Adding Fish to Your Fountain
Fountains are
not good environments for fish or plants due to
the constant motion of the water falling.
Water fountains are beautiful touches to any
garden landscape and provide a sense of calm and
tranquility. Some of these decorative, artistic,
works of art can be seen in hotel lobbies,
shopping malls, parks, museums, and other public
and private places bringing us hours of
enjoyment and relaxation.
The Drawback of Water Fountains:
If you want to fill your water fountain with
beautiful fish and gorgeous plants---don't. The
falling water is extremely hard on plants and on
fish. Water fountains aerate the water too much,
making it unhealthy for both plant and fish
life, in addition, the continuous falling water
generates a turbulent environment, which stress
the fish. This turbulence weakens the plant
roots and stirrers up sediment.
If you must have a fountain in your yard or
garden, then keep it a fountain. When you add a
fountain to a pond where animals and plants live
this will create an unhealthy environment for
both fish and plants. By keeping a fountain a
fountain, you can add filters, pumps, and
chlorination, which will help to keep your
fountain clean, and you won't have to worry
about killing plants and fish in the process.
